Name: Alex Bell, LUTCF, CIC
Title: Agency Principal
Started: Formed WBR Insurance in 2006
Alex Bell is one of the three Agency Principals driving the success and growth of the company. A success that he attributes to the amazing employees WBR Insurance has on staff.
“Our company could not achieve what we do without our dedicated employees,” says Bell. “We do more than just sell products, our team provides value and knowledge that our members can rely on to guide them in their decision-making process when choosing the right insurance and financial products.”
Bell takes pride in the experience and availability the company offers its clients not only at the agency level but also through the product lines they represent.
“WBR is able to provide services at all levels the way the member would want to access it, whether it is through our agents, telephone, online, or mobile,” says Bell.
As an Agency Principal, Bell is responsible for negotiating acquisitions of smaller agencies that grow WBR Insurance. In addition, he works primarily with the commercial lines side of the business that serves clients as small as one employee to clients as large as 2000 employees.
Bell has over 35 years of experience in insurance. He began his career working for his father’s agency as an independent agent in 1982. After ten successful years he formed Bell Insurance Agency as a part of Nationwide. As the agency continued to grow, Bell joined with John Wilson Jr. and Clay Robertson to form WBR Insurance in 2006.
Bell is professionally designated as a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) agent.
A native of this area, Bell graduated from Norfolk Academy and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Arts in English from Hampden-Sydney College in 1978. Bell has been married for 35 years to his wife Andrea. They have two adult children.
During his free time, Bell is actively involved with the Porsche Club of America (PCA). In 2005, Bell bought his first Porsche, a 996 Carrera, and joined the PCA First Settler’s Region. Bell obtained his PCA Club Race License and NASA Competition License in 2009 and has participated in several club races such as the Road Atlanta International Raceway in Danville. He currently serves as the National PCA Driver’s Education Committee Chair.
Looking forward to the continued growth of WBR Insurance, Bell’s driving aim is to always help support the families his company serves. “What we sell is an obligation that matters,” says Bell. “It protects families when they need it the most.”
